Since Spring Festival, several districts in Beijing have ramped up coronavirus vaccinations, with the goal of inoculating as many eligible people as possible.
In Haidian district, as of midday on Monday, more than 933,000 vaccine doses were administered, according to the district's disease and prevention control center. Of those being vaccinated, around 665,000 got their first shot, and 268,000 got their second.
Jiang Chu, director of Haidian district's disease prevention and control center, said the district set up 29 vaccination sites and dispatched 31 medical teams for door-to-door inoculation service — moves that improved efficiency and convenience, especially for large companies. Up to 6,600 people were vaccinated per day, Jiang said.
A 30-year-old male marketing worker at Tencent's headquarters in the district, surnamed Hu, was inoculated at the office on Monday afternoon.
According to district health authorities, the door-to-door vaccination service increased people's willingness to get a shot.
"I was hesitant to be vaccinated in the first place," Hu said. "But the door-to-door inoculation service helped me dispel doubts, and I made up my mind to do it this afternoon."
About 3, 800 employees were inoculated at Tencent on Monday and Tuesday.
